Employment Support Specialist


Salary:
£26,000 to £28,000 per annum


Based at:
Mansfield or Nottingham. Regular travel required between delivery locations

Contract:
Fixed term until 31 March 2025, full time (35 hours per week)

In this role within the Employment Services department, you will play a key part in supporting our programme participants. Our programmes aim to help people who have multiple and complex barriers to sustaining paid employment.


You will be a confident, technology savvy and self-motivated individual with a background in delivering great customer service - by phone or in-person - who wants to support people to achieve their potential.


2. THE KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

  • Manage a caseload of inwork participants using the Individual Placement and Support approach.
  • Carry out initial engagement activity and conduct inwork support calls and visits.
  • Understand the key skills, aspirations and goals of participants and provide ongoing signposting for support and development.
  • Provide personcentred advice and guidance to participants.
  • Build positive relationships with local employers to enable participants to sustain employment, including accessing the wider Chamber business support offer and workplace support initiatives such as Access to Work, and training and development opportunities.
  • Work collaboratively with Primary Care and NHS teams, job centres, VCS organisations and training partners to maintain positive and integrated relationships, fostering a holistic approach to recovery through employment.
  • Provide ongoing uptodate and accurate management information to enable the department to successfully forecast performance.
  • Manage own workload effectively including good time management, adherence to deadlines and compliance protocols.
  • Provide office cover as and when needed.
  • Able and willing to travel across Nottinghamshire and occasionally the High Peak to ensure our services are accessible to all.

  • Experience of working within a welfaretowork or IPS programme, or similar relevant role.
