We're looking for Apprentices who want to create a sustainable future and provide exceptional service for our customers. Who want to combine academic learning with practical skill-building in the workplace. Who have a passion for credit management and sees a career in this dynamic function.

What does the Apprenticeship involve


It's a Level 3, fully funded, Credit Controller Apprenticeship lasting around 24 months, with a mixture of classroom, virtual and self-directed learning.

During this time you will work with concepts, processes and techniques that underpin best practice across a range of credit environments, understand how to assess and control risk, as well as the different collection and recovery methods.


On completion of the apprenticeship and successfully passing, you'll be a fully fledged Pro Credit Specialist, part of the credit management family in NEXT and will be CICM (Chartered Institute of Credit Management) qualified.

You'll be thinking on your feet using your initiative to make decisions.

With the support from your Team (we call them families in NEXT) You'll own a portfolio of our customer's debt, and will use the skills and knowledge you've learned to make commercial decisions for the benefit of our customers and our business.


Our flexible hybrid working approach means we split our working week between home and our Nottingham hub, typically 2-3 days a week in the hub.

We call them hubs instead of

_offices _- at E.ON Next we're a family and our hubs create that much needed physical space to work together, learn from each other and collaborate on some of those great ideas.


What do you need?- You will need to be 18+ due to the financial nature of the role- You will have GCSE grade C (or equivalent) in Maths and English We're looking for individuals who are totally into continuous learning, The energy industry is complex, there's no denying it so there is lots to learn but we'll make sure the support is there from your leader, your family our dedicated apprentice team- You'll be a go getter Be prepared to figure some stuff out on your own.

We want to give you autonomy so you can make your own decisions- You'll be great with people. Empathy is key with a good listening ear. You'll have great conversations with our customers to ensure that exceptional service- You'll be excited to solve complex problems, collect payment, reduce debt, and along the way see if we can do things differently so we're continuously improving

The essentials:

  • A starting salary of £21,038 per annum
  • The starting date is 9th October 2023, with interviews taking place mid / end of August
  • A permanent role as a Credit Specialist upon successful completion of your Apprenticeship with a minimum salary of £24,596 (Pro level)
  • Working environment: Flexible hybrid working expected in the office 23 days a week at our Nottingham hub
  • Minimum of 30 hours a week. We will not be accepting less than 30 hours for this role.
