The Role
Here at Darwin Clayton, we are seeking a
New Business Account Executive for our southern region.

Although you will be based remotely, 1 day a week you will work from our Tunbridge Wells headquarters with your colleagues.

Our experienced team of Account Executives are well placed to help clients across the UK, enabling us to provide a personal and face-to-face service.


Reporting into the Director of Sales and Marketing, the main purpose of the role is to establish new business prospects and develop these through all stages of the business development lifecycle, to successful completion; providing a quality and compliant service.


Key objectives & responsibilities will include:

  • Identify any business development opportunities that arise to attract new Clients to Darwin Clayton (UK) Ltd and support its aim "to be the complete broker".
  • Seek and realise crossselling and upselling opportunities in all dealings with your allocated Prospects, identifying additional products and services.
  • Offer and present insurance solutions including insurance policies and other risk management solutions, with purpose to secure new business whilst ensuring a quality service is delivered to all allocated Prospects.
  • To understand client's business operations, opportunities and risks and their approach to risk management and insurance.
  • To ensure compliance with local procedures, customer service standards and external compliance regulations, e.g. FCA.
  • To assist in team performance by regular communication with colleagues and manager to establish and raise concerns and provide solutions.

About you


As a New Business Account Executive, you'll have experience of selling and negotiating within the Insurance Industry and good knowledge of Commercial Insurance products.

You'll have the drive and motivation to achieve and exceed targets whilst delivery excellent service to your clients.

You will also be or have:

  • Excellent Communication and networking skills
  • The ability to work supportively and jointly with colleagues
  • Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines when required, without supervision
  • The ability to prioritise and organise own workload
