We have an exciting opportunity for a Line Leader to join our team

The rate of pay for this role is
£14.12 per hour.

The shift pattern is
4
days per week -
Monday to Thursday
(40 hours per week) 5AM till 3PM week 1 and 2PM - 12AM week 2

The purpose of the Line Leader role


To work as part of a team, manufacturing raw materials to produce qualify finished foods in a safe and efficient manner in line with business demands.

Under the direction of the Shift Managers and Supervisors you will be responsible for overseeing an entire production process.

This will include full accountability for the performance, waste, control and management of an entire line; striving to achieve targets and the meet Key Performance Indicators for the department.


Key Responsibilities

Health and Safety

  • To promote and build a safetyfirst culture; ensuring compliance with safe working practices, policies and procedures
  • Ensure adherence to company issued PPE
  • To complete periodic safety inspection audits within process area
  • To brief hot topics and toolbox talks to operatives working within process area

Technical/Quality

  • To ensure compliance to food safety and quality standards, supporting and displaying the right firsttime approach
  • To promote and support an audit ready ethos and have a presentable working area at all times
  • To maintain operational compliance with technical policy and procedures
  • To assist, where required, with the root cause analysis on customer complaint investigations and be involved within looking into long term preventative solutions
  • To partake in GMP audits within the process area
  • To be the first point of contact for any technical issues/queries within the designated production cell
  • To ensure and oversee all periodic line inspection checks and ensure validation

People

  • To promote a working environment and culture that contributes to the work force meeting the demands of the business
  • To oversee a small team of up to 5 people working within a process cell, organising the individuals to deliver the desired level of performance across all department Key Performance Indicators
  • To liaise and work alongside other key members of the department to assist and work towards achieving common goals

Manufacturing

  • To have accountability for an entire production process and be in control of a cell's total performance, waste and health and safety compliance; striving to achieve daily production targets
  • To have full understanding of a cell's operational design, being able to perform basic remedial and autonomous maintenance geared towards maximising output and reducing waste
  • To be an operational expert across a range of packing machinery and to undertake additional training where needed and in order to achieve this
  • To be able to think critically and make informed decisions, whilst understanding the impact of such decisions on the cell's targeted performance
  • To ensure that information is inputted accurately and in a timely manner; whilst displaying basic understanding of trend analysis and be able to identify opportunities for improvement
  • To oversee and contribute to the accurate closure of manufacturing orders

Continuous Improvement

  • To drive and promote a lean manufacturing culture within the factories
  • To contribute to tier accountability meetings for the responsible production cell daily
  • To update tier accountability boards contributing to all levels of factory operation
  • To provide and share continuous improvement knowledge and technical skills so that business objective linked opportunities can be maximised
  • To display a positive approach and engage within continuous improvement activities within the department
