The Front Office Operators work in the regional front offices in GER, ESP, UK.


About the role

The Front Office Senior Operational Controller works as an integral part of the Onshore Operations Control Room Europe providing controlled safety services and a support line into the field across the diverse European wind portfolio on a 16/7, 365 day a year basis.

The Senior Operational Controller is expected to develop less experienced colleagues and take the lead in complex situations, when PM and FO Lead are not present.


Responsibilities

  • Lead the daytoday task management within the team and flex this during periods of intense pressure. Identify when support may be required and request it to mitigate stress within the team.
  • Resolve disputes with stakeholders as they arise.
  • Raise all HS&E issues and investigate when required.
  • Stakeholder engagement with Operations, Commercial, RWEST, grid operators, HV Engineers, Performance Engineers, HS&E, SRT.
  • Link with the backoffice team and support them as required.
  • Support the development of process, systems and people to develop the FO function.
  • In the absence of the FOPM assume responsibility for the daytoday operation and function of the Front-Office control room. Including daily operational issues that arise between the control room and internal / external customers.
  • In the absence of the FOPM assume responsibility during incident and emergency events taking the lead, giving guidance and instructions as required.
  • High level understanding of safety rules to resolve any issues.
  • Quality control for all reporting.
  • UAT for system upgrades.
  • Understand all backoffice duties and execute them to a competent level.

Requirements:


  • WTSR certification as an Operational Controller.
  • Good influencing and interpersonal skills with the ability to develop effective working relationships across RWE and the wider Renewables industry.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate with a variety of key stakeholders on a variety of issues.
  • Proven experience in operations control environment.
  • Good leadership qualities and ability to mentor and develop others.
  • Understand and execute all OOCRE tasks.
  • High level knowledge of turbine operations and faults, able to analyse vast quantities of data and understand failures or potential failures.
  • A comprehensive knowledge of key policies, procedures and process management systems which might affect the operation of the wind portfolio.
  • A Passion for Health and Safety and an extensive understanding of health and safety and environmental legislation and standards.
  • Basic experience of operating High Voltage (HV) systems and knowledge of HV safety requirements.
  • Solid planning and organising skills to include effective prioritisation of key activities.
  • Good understanding of the RWE Renewables business and how the Control Room, its systems, process and expertise can support that business.
  • Very good English skills.
  • Very good local language skills (CR Location).
  • Language skills in German, Spanish or other languages are an asset
