Supplier Quality Engineer - Castings Procurement

Peterborough OR Stafford OR Shrewsbury Office location (Hybrid working)

Initial 12 month contract

Competitive Hourly Rate - Umbrella OR PAYE

Day to Day Responsibilities of the Supplier Quality Engineer - Castings Procurement

Collaborating with suppliers and internally on new part introduction including APQP conformance
Ensures the development, analysis, and documentation of cost information supporting new product development, design and cost improvement, maintenance, make versus buy, and other special projects
Obtaining quotations and implementing engineering changes on existing part numbers
Working closely with the Buyer and Supplier Development Engineer in terms of managing supplier activity
Mediates trade off discussions early in the design process to balance performance, quality, velocity, and cost with focus on optimizing value
Leads cross functional teams to meet multiple cost opportunity objectives
Coaches, trains, and develops team members
Sets priorities and allocates projects to team members

Qualifications and experience required of the Supplier Quality Engineer - Castings Procurement

Casting and/ or casting machining experience
Supplier Quality background
Understanding of APQP and PPAP
Experience in working with suppliers
Degree or experience in Engineering, Computer Science, or Materials Science curriculum
Confident in working with different teams. Good in collaborating with others. Flexible and willing to learn new things while the role is being established.
