MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB
The Community Gaming Initiative sessional worker will support the setting up and running community gaming events and carrying out some associated administration and promotional activities,
This will include supporting regular youth club sessions on weekday evenings (currently usually Fridays) and supporting the running of holiday clubs as well as working with other project staff to extend the project reach and support monitoring and feedback.
Tasks
Support Community Gaming events
- Be present at Community Gaming events to support participants and volunteers and to ensure games and consoles are being used responsibly by players
- Help to plan and run sessions to encourage skills development, problem solving and team work through gaming
- Help to set up and close down events and ensure equipment is safely and securely put away. This may include assisting to transport equipment from Maldon Activity Centre to community settings
- Support project administration including maintaining attendance records and registers
- Undertake safeguarding training and ensure safeguarding measures are in place at Community Gaming events
- Embed safeguarding in the project delivery ensuring that participant safeguarding is at the centre of all delivery. Including but not limited to age appropriate game content, online safety, volunteer training and code of conduct.
- Ensure all personal data is stored online with MDCVS Data protection protocols and policies.
- In conjunction with the MDCVS team provide onward signposting and support to participants as appropriate.
- Ensure that activities are accessible and conducted in a nondiscriminatory way in accordance with M&DCVS's Equal Opportunities policy.
- Assist the Director to ensure that work is managed in accordance with the relevant health and safety, confidentiality and data protection policies
- Ensure the maintenance of confidentiality in respect of clients and all matters relating to the services of the Charity.
- Recommend ideas for improvement or development in order to deliver an enhanced service.
- Undertake other reasonable duties as may be required
Job Types:
Part-time, Fixed term contract, Zero hours contract
Contract length: 6 months
Part-time hours: 5-10 per week
Salary:
£12.00 per hour

- Driving Licence and access to a car for work purposes (preferred)
