The finance team play a crucial role in the business, working closely with clients, suppliers, and all internal departments to ensure the smooth operations of the business.

This is a fast paced, busy environment, in which excellent organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills are key.


The Role
The management and allocation of payments through appropriate and timely credit control processes for Whitespace Group. Support the Account Assistants with their functions as and when required.


Main Responsibilities:


  • Maintaining Customer Records
  • Completing new customers account opening process by evaluating new credit requests and conducting client credit checks.
  • Updating any change on customers records
  • Processing Invoices
  • Raising sales invoices per sales quotation generated by the File Maker
  • Liaising with Warehouse to ensure monthly Storage invoices are sent out correctly.
  • Raising any monthly invoices for the intercompany.
  • Run noninvoicing report from File Maker to check any invoices are not raised by error weekly.
  • Run revenue report from File Maker and Sage 200 weekly to reconcile the figure weekly.
  • Bank Reconciliation
  • Bookkeeping Sales Receipts into Sage 200 and updating this information into File maker. Maintain the job status in the File Maker.
  • Request remittance advice to allocate the sales receipts correctly to the related invoices.
  • Reconciling Euro, Dollar, and Sterling bank accounts daily.
  • Monitor and post Sage pay and PayPal transactions.
  • Credit Control
  • Collect payment of invoices per the agreed payment term
  • Responding to customer invoices' queries and solve the query
  • Sending statement to customers regularly
  • Maintain aged debtors report weekly with customers' feedback
  • Highlight any potential bad payer
  • Work with Legal team to debts recovery process

Additional Supporting Responsibilities:


  • Preparation of customer over payment refunds
  • Taking credit card payment via SAGE Pay.
  • Covering Account Payables where required
  • Ad hoc tasks

Skills required:


  • A minimum twoyear credit control experience
  • Accuracy on data entries
  • Computer literate with good knowledge of Excel, Word and ideally SAGE 200 accounting
  • Strong communication skills with wider company
  • Attention to detail and timeliness.
  • Articulate, Confident and Assertive
  • Ability to deal with problematic and demanding customers.
  • Ability to reconcile complex debtors' accounts

Remuneration and Benefits
Up to £35,000 starting salary
