Deputy Service Director


We have an exciting new role for a Deputy Service Manager working with a charity that supports people with a learning disability and/or autistic people in West Sussex.


About the role:


This varied role will work with the Service Director in leading exciting plans for supported living and community outreach, community-based activity programmes of Sport, Arts and Learning & Development as well as growing Shared Lives service.

As a member of the senior leadership team some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Alongside the Service Director lead on delegated strategic and innovative development, management and growth of services
  • Responsible for delegated budgets and monitor budget expenditure
  • Maintain excellent relationships with external stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with the regulatory framework (CQC), mental capacity act, safeguarding, and other statutory requirements and to act as a 'safeguarding lead'
  • Review and develop a broad range of new, diverse and innovative services
  • Recruitment & selection, induction, and training of staff

About you:


Excellent co-production, leadership, people and project management and communication skills are essential for this role as are strong budget management, IT and writing skills, along with experience of working with regulators such as the care quality commission and managing contracts.


You need to have a comprehensive understanding of and interest in the systems and services that support person-centred, excellent care and support for people with a learning disability and/or autistic people, enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and be both a leader and a team player.
