Experienced in handling and rehoming dogs? Do you want to make a difference to dog welfare in your local area? Are you based within one hour of Dundee?

We have an exciting and unique opportunity to co-ordinate the Dogs Trust Home From Home scheme in the Dundee area, expanding the opportunities for dog fostering and enabling Dogs Trust to rehome more dogs in the community.

Dogs Trust is the UK's largest dog welfare charity and normally cares for around 14,000 dogs across its network of 21 rehoming centres in the UK and one in Dublin.

Dogs Trust has a non-destruction policy and will never put a healthy dog to sleep.

Our Home from Home scheme provides care in the homes of volunteers for dogs who will benefit from short term foster care.

The role will involve visiting and assessing potential foster carers and transporting dogs to carers, as well as extensive communication with West Calder Centre staff and other departments regarding marketing and rehoming.

In addition, you'll be required to recruit, manage, and support a small team of volunteer foster carers.

Working on your own initiative, you will have experience of handling dogs and matching them to potential adopters.

Able to screen and assess dogs for health issues, aggression and behaviour problems you'll be a confident communicator experienced in working with volunteers.

You will also be equipped to deal with sensitive and challenging situations in an appropriate manner, ensuring the best outcome for our dogs and volunteers.

With excellent administrative skills and a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office you will be familiar databases and use of internet and web media.

A full, manual driving licence is essential for this role.
