Description

We are looking for a hard working and reliable Maintenance person/Handyman to work for our lovely hotels (49 bedrooms) on Brighton Seafront.

The handyman's job is to carry out day-to-day maintenance work and ongoing health and safety compliance.

The work ranges from simple building maintenance to plumbing, painting, and minor electrical works.

Expected hours would be 9am-5pm, 5 days a week.

Examples of Duties this role includes but is not limited to:

Carpentry:
repairing furniture, and other ad hoc carpentry repairs.

Linen:
Carrying linen bags, filling up cupboards and taking away used linen as well as supporting Housekeepers if needed.

Electrical:
replacing plugs and other basic repairs, installing and tuning in televisions, keeping CCTV cameras running effectively, reviewing lighting throughout the building

Plumbing:
repairing/installing taps, showers, toilets, kitchen and laundry equipment, and plumbing maintenance, bleeding radiators etc

Building Maintenance:
Shampooing Carpets and Curtains, Cleaning windows, keeping the external areas safe and clean, checking carpets and stairs are safe and in good repair, checking fire-exits are kept clear

Health and Safety Compliance Checks:
Completing Fire Maintenance checks, completing PAT checks, among other checks.

Qualifications from City and Guilds, BTECs, and NVQs will be useful

Please note a degree of flexibility is required in the role.

Salary:
£15.00 per hour
