Role overview
The primary role is to be responsible for purchase ledger transactions. The role will also be responsible for bank reconciliation and general accounts admin. This role is based in our Head Office in Cambridge. To support the Accounts Payables Manager and Group Finance Manager in the execution of their duties.
Reports to
You will be directly responsible to the Accounts Payables Manager.
Responsibilities:
To process supplier invoices, checking for accuracy, authorisation, reasonableness and to ensure that these are correctly authorised.
To pro-actively chase non-returned invoices and ensure correctly logged
To ensure prompt and accurate payment of supplier accounts through electronic banking means and cheque/cash as appropriate and to advise MDMs/suppliers of payment as appropriate.
To reconcile supplier statements to purchase ledger accounts, investigating and resolving differences promptly.To manage the payment of college invoices and ensure that these are paid on time and only as required.
To deal promptly, courteously and efficiently with supplier queries
To answer queries from colleagues in Head Office and Colleges about invoices and payments
To ensure all outgoing payments are correctly recorded in Oracle EBS
To reconcile the cash book to bank statements on a regular basis and clear up any differences and unusual or old reconciling items.
To provide cover for other team members during holidays, sickness and other busy periods as requested by the Accounts Payable ManagerAny previous experience with Oracle would be an advantage but is not compulsory.
