An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Families and Integrated Community Care Division as a Senior Clinical Fellow (ST3+) in Obstetrics & Gynaecology.

Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is an ambitious organisation serving a population of more than 440,000 residents of Blackpool, Fylde & Wyre and with tertiary services across Lancashire and South Cumbria with a population of 1.7 million.

The posts are for a period of 12 months with possibility of permanent contract.

Though not recognised UK training posts, the post-holder will have a named, enthusiastic supervisor, and be supported in undertaking a wide range of CV-enhancing activities.


The successful applicants will have the opportunity to work in a modern well-equipped purpose built unit on the Victoria Hospital Site.

There are approximately 3000 births per year.

Whilst this is not a training post it provides a wide range of opportunities for enhancing clinical skills and experience; for continuing professional and personal development particularly clinical governance and management.

The post does include regular set night time shift to support the middle grade rota. The consultant body has a wealth of experience to also help support the CESR pathway.

The Trust provides services to the 440,000 residents of Blackpool, Fylde & Wyre and North Lancashire, as well as specialist tertiary care for Cardiac and Haematology patients.
