About the role:


Responsibilities:


  • To deliver initial estimates of the testing effort needed for new developments and functional enhancements
  • Participate in daily stand up meetings, defect triage calls
  • Work with third party suppliers on defect management and subsequent deliverables
  • Work with the Group Infrastructure team to manage the schedule of production releases and adhoc fixes
  • Monitor, measure, control and report to both Project Office and management on test progress, product quality, test results and test completion
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the test team on best practice, mentoring and supporting the development of team members with training and growth plans
  • Manage resources effectively to ensure utilisation is maximised, aligned to plan, budget and to timeframes;
  • Understand business needs and requirements to develop effective quality control processes;
  • Work with the functional teams to understand current processes and the impact of change:
  • To define, design and deliver all testing work, including Functional Testing, System Integration Testing, Regression and support User Acceptance Testing
  • Document queries and defects and provide adequate data to allow rapid resolution
  • To review testing requirement for change requests, assessing the impact on test plans and schedules
  • Analyse, improve and maintain an automation framework implementing and using e.g. selenium or equal frameworks
  • Create and maintain both manual and automated test scripts
  • Ensure configuration management of all artefacts produced and traceability of the tests to the test basis
  • Drive standards and best practices in QA and Testing, champion the adoption of continuous quality improvement through automation
  • Identify test automation opportunities and tooling, plan the effort, select the tools and ensure the team are trained
  • Support all system users via the helpdesk facility; provide adhoc training where necessary
  • Any other reasonable task as requested by your line manager

Role Requirements:


  • Experienced in testing life administration and/or fund administration systems
  • The ability to construct, manage, execute, and review effective test plans
  • Experienced in problem solving, analysing, and troubleshooting during the testing life cycle
  • Previous hands on experience as a Test Lead working with developers, product specialists, Business Analysts, Project Managers, testers and business stakeholders.
  • Broad knowledge of software development lifecycle (waterfall/agile), functional and nonfunctional test methodologies
  • A deep knowledge of test automation framework
  • Knowledge and experience in performance testing, API test and cross browser testing
  • Relevant and demonstrable experience of managing relationship with business and external stakeholders
  • A proven track record in delivering on time
  • Knowledge in test management and defect management tools
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to prioritise work efficiently and effectively for the team; and
  • A team player, who is energetic, passionate, and methodical with a positive attitude to help mentor team members
