This vacancy is included in our new Welcome and Retention scheme


An initial one off lump sum 'Welcome' payment of up to £500 is attached to this post payable in your first salary, followed by a 'Retention' payment of up to £500 after 12 months service (amounts are pro-rata and T&C's apply).

Derbyshire County Council are looking for
Care Workers (Community) to work in our local areas to help people achieve their maximum level of independence after an accident or general dip in health.


You don't need to have previous experience of care work or qualifications as we offer structured training to ensure our care workers receive what they need to flourish and progress in their social care careers

The area covered by the Dementia Team are Glapwell, Shirebrook, Bolsover, Mastin Moor, Barlborough, Whitwell, Clowne, Elmton, Creswell, Hodthorpe, Pinxton, Alfreton, South Normanton, Tibshelf and Newton, working anytime between 7.00 am and 10.00 pm on a Rota basis, opportunities to work additional hours if required.

This role requires applicants to travel across a sizeable geographical area so access to transport is essential.

The job may require unsocial hours working including weekends and Bank Holidays. Payment arrangements will be detailed in any contract offer made.


Saturday and Sunday hours will be paid at plain time where it is part of your normal working pattern unless it is between 7pm and 7am, where enhanced rates of pay apply.

Enhanced pay rates are paid for Bank Holiday working.


An initial one off lump sum Welcome payment of £500 (pro-rata) is attached to this post payable in your first salary.

If you voluntarily leave the Council's employment within 12 months, you are required to repay some or all of the welcome payment (Terms and conditions apply).
