Murphy & Sons Ltd have created a new and exciting opportunity for Innovation Coordinator to join our award engineering team due to continued growth.

As the Innovation Coordinator you will act as the focal point for innovation within the business, coordinating innovative proposals, lead in the communication of ideas and project initiatives along with managing the innovation portal on a day to day basis.

You will act as a key point of contact with our RDEC consultants and champion our approach to RDEC across the business.

What you will be doing

  • Champion innovation across the group to assist with achieving our engineering strategy and long term business goals
  • Manage our Innovation Portal
  • Ensure that innovation opportunities are evaluated, developed and implemented effectively
  • Facilitate the creation of new ideas for innovative processes, products or services
  • Act as a main point of contact for RDEC and promote benefits across the business
  • Support our RDEC consultants in their exposure across the business and chasing down information for them
  • Contribute to the development of the strategy for innovation for the group
  • Promote the value of innovation to the business through effective communication and engagement
  • Collaborate with our clients, supply chain, external bodies and stakeholders to actively seek opportunities to innovate
  • Recognise and identify barriers to innovation in the organisation and provide support and strategy to remove them
  • Identify and maximise public funding opportunities to support innovation and research and development
  • Collaborate with educational establishments and third parties (including SMEs) as may be required to drive innovations forward
  • Aid in award submissions to ensure wider recognition of our innovation and engineering initiatives

Who we are looking for

  • Background in Civil Engineering for a major UK Contractor/Consultant
  • Ability to use own initiative
  • Interpersonal skills with the ability to influence, and the integrity to develop trust and respect
  • A collaborative team player, that empowers others and attracts followers
  • Ability to prioritise objectives and capable of completing work to deadlines
