Description

Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, this role is pivotal in supporting the Finance team in ensuring that all day-to-day functions and statutory responsibilities are carried out, enabling the businesses to operate efficiently and effectively and comply with applicable laws, regulations and reporting requirements.


Key responsibilities

  • Collating and accounting for "end of day" routines and transactions across the businesses, including revenue recognition
  • Recording and processing all payments for the group of companies
  • Daily analysis of bank transactions and processing these within the accounting systems
  • Preparing monthly bank account reconciliations
  • Accurate processing of journals into Sage
  • Supporting the Accounts Payable Team in dealing with invoice processing, particularly during peak periods, to prevent any backlogs
  • Assisting in maintaining accurate and reconciled aged creditors listings
  • Assisting in the preparation of reconciliations for balance sheet accounts
  • Assist in the accurate calculation and recording of employee holiday entitlements
  • Prepare, maintain and distribute relevant payroll reports/statistics
  • Processing payroll journals into Sage
  • Identifying and implementing better ways of working within the Finance team to improve effectiveness, timeliness and accuracy of outputs
  • Assisting with process documentation
  • Other ad hoc tasks as may be assigned by the business from time to time

Job Skills & Requirements

  • Experience of working in a Finance team
  • Experience of using accounting systems (Sage preferred, but not essential)
  • Organised and structured to ensure things get done
  • Able to work well with other team members and at times independently
  • Upbeat and positive attitude
  • Flexible and able to prioritise tasks to achieve overall Finance team goals
  • Comfortable with working to deadlines with a positive "can do", positive attitude
  • Willing to suggest new ideas and always looking for ways to improve the way we do things
  • Proficient Microsoft Excel user
