Do you have experience in business operations, and are seeking a role in higher education? Are you adept at coordinating activities and supporting team operations? Signature Recruitment is excited to partner with a leading London university in search of a Business Support Officer for a temporary, full-time role.

This opportunity has an immediate start and requires a commitment to work fully on-site, alternating between two London campuses.

In your role as Business Support Officer, you will provide crucial support to the Business Operations Team of four.

Your responsibilities will include assisting with education-related activities, such as handling student enquiries and claims, and supporting junior staff and seminar activities.

Additionally, you will play a key role in organising events, liaising with academics, and performing a variety of administrative tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the team's day-to-day activities.


Business Support Officer Key Responsibilities:


  • Assist the deputy team leader with educationrelated activities and general support for the team.
  • Handle student enquiries, process expense claims, and provide comprehensive administrative support for educational activities.
  • Coordinate with the Senior Business Support Officer to support the Postgraduate Research student lifecycle, including financial transactions and event/seminar organisation.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for students, managing enquiries and supporting their academic journey.
  • Place orders for equipment and research support materials as required, ensuring students have the necessary resources.
  • Engage in the coordination of short courses and summer schools, managing logistics such as room bookings, catering, and attendee communication.

Business Support Officer Key Skills:


  • Experience in business operations, with strong Microsoft / IT skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, with experience of liaising effectively with a wide range of individuals, from students to academics.
  • Proficiency in financial support tasks, with experience using finance software and processing expenses preferred.
