Mayflower Marina, Plymouth, is seeking an experienced Accounts Clerk/Administrator to join our friendly, long-serving team. Reporting to the Office Manager there is an opportunity for progression with the company.The role is 30 hours per week, including regular weekend working on a rota basis. Additional hours are available and may be needed at busy times, as well as cover for staff holidays. The role is very diverse and often busy, so applicants must have the ability to juggle tasks and prioritise. Processing financial administrative tasks, taking payments, whilst dealing with customers face-to-face and on the phone.
The marina is open 24/7, 365 days a year and provides fully serviced pontoon berthing for contract and visiting boats.
Mayflower Marina holds the Yacht Harbour Association 5 Gold Anchor highest award and has won local and national awards for customer service.
Our awards reflect the standard of service and facilities offered at the Marina and this is a rewarding role in a beautiful setting with customers we treat as friends and family.
Job Role:
- Handling cash, collecting payments, till operation, reconciliation of daily income.
- Completion and reconciliation of various supporting spreadsheets.
- Reconciliation of fuel sales and income.
- Maintenance of "Havenstar" (CRM), to ensure uptodate customer record information.
- Calculation of contract and visitor berthing fees and other ancillary fees.
- Preparation of sales invoices.
- Processing both sales and purchase ledger invoices.
Person specification:
- Experience of accounts, administration, reception, hospitality in a multipurpose role.
- Strong numeracy skills.
- IT competent.
- Excellent oral and written communicator.
- Good understanding of invoicing procedures.
- Able to work under pressure and manage a fluctuating workload.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Organised and self motivated.
- Accurate and conscientious with an attention for detail.
- Confident and approachable.
- Team Player with a "can do" attitude.
- Reliable.
Skills and Experience:
Essential
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Cash handling.
- Strong numeracy skills
- GCSE 'C'/5 grade or equivalent in English and Maths.
- Data processing.
- Excellent Written Skills.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role.
Desirable
- Experience of Sage Line 50.
- Experience of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.
- Knowledge of boats.
- VHF radio operator.
- First Aider.
- Experience of Health and Safety Regulations.
- Magician
