NRM, part of Cawood Scientific, is the UK's largest independent provider of analytical testing and sampling services for the land-based industries.

The mission at Cawood Scientific is to contribute to a safer and healthier planet by providing our customers with the tools and information to make informed decisions on sustainability, crop yield, live-stock and renewable energy.

NRM are looking for a Laboratory Operative. This is a full time, contract position for 7 weeks, based in Swaffham.

This is an entry level position with no prior experience required as training, including manual handling, will be provided. Experience working in a busy environment is preferred. This role involves some heavy lifting.


Core Role


Working as part of the wider Soil Department, the main role of a Soil Technician is to organise samples when they are first received at the site ahead of booking in, preparation and analysis.


Core Accountabilities

  • Open received samples, dry, prepare and extract for analysis
  • Unload and move heavy batches of samples around the laboratory and site
  • Work with safety and compliance at the heart of all processes
  • Use specialist equipment as part of the sample preparation process
  • Communicate effectively with other departments and occasionally customers
  • Maintain equipment and working environment as required

Key Skills

  • Excellent concentration levels and attention to detail
  • Capacity to handle multiple tasks and high levels of workload
  • Good communication, verbal and written English
  • Confidence working as both part of a busy team and unsupervised
  • The ability to use your initiative and a proactive outlook

Job Types:
Full-time, Temporary contract

Contract length: 7 weeks


Salary:
£20,500.00 per year
