Your New Role


Our QHSE family is dedicated to developing, implementing, and maintaining an effective health, safety and environment management system that drives continuous improvement, safe systems of work and behavioural practices at all levels of the organisation.

This role leads development and implementation of a Health, Safety and Environment assurance strategy for a division of Survitec.

It drives activity to gather, analyse and interpret health, safety, and environmental data to advise on improvement to key / critical business processes.


What You Can Expect from the Role

Key Responsibilities and accountabilities:


  • Implement and maintain Survitec compliance programme, ensuring HSE systems and procedures are in accordance with global framework and local regulation
  • Implement systems and practices needed to monitor and assure compliance with Global IMS policies, group, and customer requirements. Compile statistical analysis of activity and outcomes and recommendations for improvement
  • Advise leadership team(S) on global HSE framework, steps needed to improve HSE performance and on any HSE compliance issues
  • Conduct operational, health, safety, and environmental audits according to the HSE audit calendar, ensuring appropriate corrective actions are agreed with business leaders and colleagues. Resolve issues arising from audits and refers serious or contentious issues through appropriate escalation routes
  • Communicate the local HSE action plan, explaining how this relates to the business strategy and action plan and the broader Survitec mission and vision. Ensure all allocated colleagues are aware of their responsibilities towards group and local HSE policy and process and motivates people to achieve local business goals and drive continuous improvement
  • Lead and/or participate in HSE incident or nonconformance investigations and customer complaints. Ensure HSE related incidents are recorded and reported appropriately. Ensure lessons are learned and uses findings to identify and drive improvements
  • Monitor supplier CAPA and improvement actions
  • Lead by example, carrying out projects to drive continuous improvement of the overall HSE systems and processes
  • Conduct Annual Management Review to schedule, enabling compilation of the Global HSE Review
  • Use Survitec's formal development framework to identify the team's individual development needs, planning and implementing actions to build their capabilities. Provide training or coaching to others throughout the organisation to increase awareness and capability in HSE management, enabling others to improve performance and fulfil personal potential
  • Manage and report on team performance. Set appropriate performance objectives for direct reports and holds them accountable for achieving these. Take appropriate corrective action where necessary to ensure the achievement of team and personal objectives
  • Deliver a budget for HSE activity

The Experience, Qualifications and Skills You Will Have

Essential Criteria

  • 7+ years experience in a senior HSE position
  • 3+ years of people management experience, planning and managing resources to deliver functional objectives
  • Great communicator
  • Confident in delivering and reporting on critical business challenges to senior leadership
