Description
We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed midwife with proven post registration experience to join our community team.


The role in community is currently a traditional model of care for the antenatal and postnatal period and includes providing care and support for the home birth service.


You must must have a passion for providing continuity of care for women and their families and be willing to work as part of a continuity of care model, as this is developed within ESNEFT.

You will be expected to provide woman centred, holistic midwifery care in a community setting.

The community midwife has a fundamental role in providing evidence based care and empowering women to make informed choices regarding their care plans.


Community Midwives act as a lead professional for low risk women in an identified caseload, and collaborate with obstetric colleagues and the wider MDT in the care of women with complex health and social needs.


You will have a fundamental role in information sharing to empower women to be involved in decisions regarding their care.

You will offer choice to all women on lead professional and place of birth.

You will work in partnership with health care professionals, charities, local groups and local and national guidelines to provide women centred and individualised care.


As a Community Midwife, you will have the skills, knowledge and ability to offer care for women who choose home birth and will be encouraged to provide intrapartum care to women giving birth in midwife led wards/ birthing units and the consultant unit.


You will act as an advocate for women and their families receiving maternity care and as a role model for junior staff members and students.
