Description

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated, fun, caring and committed qualified Early Years Practitioner to become a part of our nursery team at Sunflower Children's Centre.


We are looking for an experienced, qualified Nursery Practitioner with a minimum of a Level 3 Early Years Education qualification to join our highly professional team.


The successful applicant will need to be fully flexible between 7.15 and 6.30 Monday to Friday 51 weeks a year.


Main duties include the following:
Ø To provide a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment, in all areas at all times.


Ø To plan and deliver age-appropriate play based EYFS curriculum that enables all children to make individual progress and enrich their cultural capital.


Ø To ensure all practitioners establish fair, respectful, trusting, supportive and constructive relationships with children and to report any concerns appropriately.

Ø To help ensure the setting always exceeds Ofsted requirements.


Ø To understand and work to the Centre's policies and procedures, including how to deal with child safeguarding issues appropriately and how to respond to incidents, accidents, complaints and emergencies.

Ø To plan activities which ensure the child is working towards the early learning outcomes and their development.

Ø To maintain records of development of children in their care and share these with carers.


Ø Identify and act upon the need to refer a child for further support and liaise with outside agencies when necessary and follow any guidance from professionals.

Ø Support the centre's SENCo and Safeguarding Officers


Ø To report any incidents to a member of staff or child to ensure records are properly maintained, for example accident/ incident book and risk assessments.

Ø To liaise with parents and carers, informing them about the centre and its curriculum and encourage parental involvement.

Ø To undertake any other reasonable duties as directed in accordance with the centre's aims and objectives.

Ø To liaise with outside agencies when necessary and follow guidance given.


Ø To fully engage with and support all staff around the centre to actively promote outstanding teamwork and sustaining a culture of collaborative and cooperative working between colleagues.

Ø To work alongside other staff members to ensure the settings philosophy and ethos are fulfilled.

Ø To ensure confidentially is always maintained.

Hours are negotiable (minimum 22 hours). Overtime available.
