Financial Controller, Tour Operator, Central London £55,000 plus benefits (Hybrid role) - An established travel brand with exciting and ambitious growth plans, is recruiting for a new Financial Controller role.

As a Qualified Accountant, you will be a keymember of the Finance team, reporting directly to the CFO, and providing numbers that reflect the activities of the company.


This is a hybrid role, a mix of working from your home and the Tour Operator's Central London offices based near Tottenham Court Road.


Key Responsibilities of the Financial Controller

  • Timely preparation of highquality monthly management accounts, with analysis of performance, variance & trends, including insightful commentary
  • The control and integrity of the organisation's financial information, processes, and accounting systems
  • Responsibility for annual statutory accounts pack, including liaison with auditor
  • Assisting with annual financial planning & analysis
  • Supporting the budgeting process and working closely with department managers
  • Preparation of payroll, and VAT returns
  • Submission of ATOL / ABTA returns
  • Accounting software development
  • Day to day management of the accounts team

Skills & Attributes of the Financial Controller

  • Qualified accountant ideally ACA, ACCA, CIMA, and with 5+ years PQE
  • Previous experience as a Finance Manager or Financial Controller in an SME
  • Experience of supporting a fastgrowing business
  • Extensive experience of creating robust financial systems, controls, and procedures
  • A proactive, handson approach and a commercial eye for detail
  • The ability to implement new processes, develop reporting procedures and build robust relationships with key decision makers
  • Group company, with multicurrency transactional activity exposure
  • FX exposure
  • Excellent verbal, written communication skills, and advanced Excel skills
  • Experience of running monthly payroll
  • Travel sector experience is preferred but not essential

  • The hybrid role offers a competitive base salary of £55,000
