About The Role:


Nexxus Care are looking for Learning Disability Support Workers


An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, confident and passionate Support Worker to work in our exceptional short breaks and respite centre based in Cannock, Staffordshire, our centre supports adults with learning disabilities.


Our centre is proud to offer 10 spacious rooms that are equipped with en-suite wet rooms, assistive technology call systems, door sensors for privacy and security, sensory projectors, televisions as well as ceiling track hoist systems and adaptable communal areas for wheel chair users i.e adaptive surfaces within the kitchen area to enable access to the hob and sink.


About You:


Support Worker - Woodland View, Cannock

Nexxus Care are looking for Support Workers within our 10 bedded specialised learning disability home for respite care and day centre use.

  • Experience working with individuals with learning disabilities is desirable_

Some duties may include:


  • To give assistance to residents (when required) with washing/ bathing, toileting, dressing and undressing, whilst promoting independence and dignity and respect.
  • Providing assistance during mealtimes, ensuring any dietary needs are met and recorded if needed.
  • Ensuring care plans are followed, providing that person centred care, and all choice are respected, whilst completing care documentation.
  • Giving support to the residents when activities are being held in the home.

What we need from you:


  • Can you work shifts between the hours of 7am and 10pm?
  • Do you have the right to work in the UK with proofs? (i.e. passport, Visa)
  • We'll need to complete a DBS check if you're successful, we will cover the initial cost of this
  • T&C's apply


  • Provide professional references

  • We'll need at least 2 reference from your previous employers
  • Complete mandatory elearning and attend a classroom based induction held locally
  • You'll be paid to attend your training, and our training and recruitment team are always available to help
