The Role:
Key Responsibilities for this role:
- The main role will be to engage with companies, alongside the investment teams in the UK, Europe and globally on a variety of sustainability thematic issues concentrating on climate, advise on voting for climate related resolutions and developing the metricsto measure the progress of engagements.
- Building M&G's capability, resources, articulation and credentials of Stewardship
- Assisting in the implementation of agreed standards for Sustainable Investment across all M&G investment teams
- Assisting in the oversight processes for integrating ESG considerations into all M&G funds
- Raise the profile of M&G externally by attending and in time speaking at conferences and events and represent M&G at appropriate bodies such as CA100+.
- Improve M&G's marketing materials
- Add to the team's knowledge of Stewardship & Sustainable Investment issues and the practice of integration into the investment process
- To work collaboratively with colleagues and take personal accountability to maintain and enhance controls you are responsible for to support improvement of the overall control environment, customers outcomes and a reduction in M&G's operational risk.
Key Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
- Ideally CFA ESG qualifications or intention to complete
- Familiarity with engagement with Boards and senior company management at listed corporates in relation to climate change.
- Familiarity with the legal and regulatory framework surrounding shareholder engagement and intervention with Boards and with investee companies.
- Excellent attention to detail

- A sound knowledge of both asset manager and asset owner business model and how to navigate potential conflicts
- A sound knowledge of unit linked and with profits business
- A good grasp of all asset classes and their roles in multiasset and annuity portfolios
- A sound knowledge of
- Ability to translate both complex/strategic concepts into tangible and measurable actions by creating structure and framework
