The Medical Research Council Mitochondrial Biology Unit (MRC MBU), University of Cambridge wishes to appoint a post-doctoral Research Associate to join Professor Judy Hirst and the Mitochondrial Complex I group.

Research at the MRC MBU takes place in a vibrant community and is focused on the involvement of mitochondria and their dysfunction in an ever-increasing range of human diseases.

The MRC MBU is a world-renowned centre for research with three major scientific aims: I) To understand the fundamental processes taking place in mitochondria. II) To understand the involvement of these processes in human diseases. III) To exploit knowledge of these fundamental processes for the development of new therapies to treat human diseases.

This is a fixed term post until 31 March 2027 from the date of appointment.

Applicants must have (or be close to obtaining) a PhD.

Appointment at Research Associate level is dependent on having a PhD.

Those who have submitted but not yet received their PhD will initially be appointed as a Research Assistant (Grade 5, Point 38 £31,411) moving to Research Associate (Grade 7) upon confirmation of your PhD award.
