Our well recognised professional services client based in Birmingham are seeking a friendly and hard working Legal Assistant to join them on a permanent basis.

On offer for this permanent role is a salary of up to 25,000 depending on experience, plus perks.


What does the role entail?

Duties to include:


  • Taking ownership of enquiries, resolving or escalating (or identifying alternative contacts) as appropriate
  • Producing long, complex and accurate housestyle documents, manuscript amends, audio dictation and document comparisons
  • Organising and prioritising workload and keeping a levelheaded approach in a busy working environment
  • Managing diaries arranging meetings, conference calls, lunches etc
  • Taking accurate and detailed telephone messages
  • Maintaining of filing systems, efiling, and archiving and retrieval of files from storage and opening new matter files
  • Preparing and producing bills, keeping accurate records of expenses, disbursements and fees for client billing, liaising with billing department to monitor payment of fees
  • Organising travel (including flights, accommodation and restaurants) and providing the fee earners with detailed itineraries
This is a full time role, working Monday - Friday, 9am -5:15pm, two days in office and 3 days working from home


Requirements:


  • Minimum of 2 year's legal secretarial experience essential, preferable within corporate litigation
  • Have excellent typing skills
  • Advanced skills in Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • A team player who is able to build effective relationships
  • Strong attention to detail and great communication skills
  • Friendly with a great attitude and a willingness to learn
  • Be highly organised with the ability to act with discretion
