Applications are invited for a Clinical Fellow in Cell Therapy which is available for 12 months.


This post holder would be involved in the outpatient and inpatient care of patients under RMH who are undergoing treatment with CAR-T cell therapy for management of relapsed/refectoryHaematologicalMalignancies either with commissioned CAR-T products or patientsreceiveingCell Therapy Treatment on Clinical Trials.

This is an exciting post which will provide training and experience in the management of patients being treated with CAR-T cell therapies including the indication for CAR-T cell treatment, selection of suitable patients, management of bridging therapy, the inpatient management of CAR-T cell patients and management of complications post CAR-T cell therapies and outpatient follow up.

The clinical fellow will form part of the Cell Therapy team working in close conjunction with the CAR-T cell/HSCT consultants and CNS in cell therapy, Apheresis Nurses and Stem Cell Laboratory Staff.

In addition this post will provide an opportunity and training of managing patients on clinical trials including Phase 1 clinical trials.

In addition this post will play a role in coordination of patients who are having treatment with autologous stem cell transplantation for treatment of relapsed lymphoproliferative disorders and will gain training in management of patients undergoing autologous stem cell mobilization and autologous stem cell transplant.


The Clinical Fellow will be involved in the consent of patient for CAR-T treatment in conjunction with the HSCT/Cell Therapy consultants.

In conjunction with the Cell therapy CNS they will coordinate the patient's admission and management of cell journey.

Prior to apheresis and prior to Conditioning therapy they will be involved in assessment of patients fitness to proceed with therapy.

They will provide information to patients and family and answer questions related to treatment or side effects.


Working with the HSCT/Cell Therapy consultants, and where appropriate they will contribute to outpatient clinics, consultations, ward rounds and multi-disciplinary team meetings.

The Clinical Fellow will maintain an excellent standard of documentation to ensure that patient information is communicated effectively and contemporaneously on the electronic notes system.

They will support the consultant in making referrals to appropriate specialists as required.


The post holder will effectively manage acute clinical problems arising post CAR-T therapy and attend to patients who visit the unit who may become unwell, working in conjunction with the inpatient team where required.

The post holder will work effectively with the nursing, pharmacy and front of house teams on the unit to achieve an excellent streamlined service for patients and their relatives, attending divisional meeting as necessary.
