Job Description:


We are seeking to appoint a Minerals and Waste Planner at Senior level to join our existing Minerals and Waste team which comprises specialist planners and environmental managers.

The new team member would ideally be based in Chesterfield, although our Nottingham and Birmingham offices are also options.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Deliver, manage and coordinate the technical planning and environmental outputs as referred to above.
  • Liaise with clients, internal specialist environmental and design teams and, where necessary, subcontractors.
  • Work in partnership with other members of the Environment and Sustainability team (both within the
  • Monitor and manage project budgets.
  • Identify and pursue business development initiatives and manage the preparation of technical and fee proposals.
  • Participate in internal and external meetings.

Qualifications:


  • Excellent report writing and oral communication skills, commercial awareness.
  • Able to work on own initiative and under pressure.
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft Office including Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Project.
  • Sound knowledge of UK planning policy and legislation and, preferably a working knowledge of EIA legislation.
  • Client focused with good interpersonal skills and collaborative working approach with a high level of commitment to quality.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Relevant postgraduate degree an advantage.
  • Licentiate Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) or an equivalent professional planning organisation.
