Grade F Point 6-7 (£21,968 - £22,369)

37 hours per week, 40 weeks per year

£19,295 - £19,647 (actual salary)

We are seeking to appoint, as soon as possible, a brand-new role within our SEND and Engagement Support Teams. The Behaviour Mentor will be responsible for overseeing behaviour management and improvement systems, with a specialist area of focus.

The role reports to the SEND / Engagement Support Manager and will work alongside all areas of Inclusion within the school.

The main duties of the post will be:

  • Participate and impact in all aspects of the management and improvement of student behaviour and the prevention of poor behaviour.
  • Coordination of a specific area of focus. Either Patrol coordination or Internal exclusion coordination.
  • Patrol coordination identify & monitor hotspots, staff handovers, tracking students out of class, truancy.
  • Internal exclusion coordination staff handovers, reflection & post incident learning, tracking repeat behaviours and intervention plandoreviews.
  • Implement and monitor Behaviour Improvement, in line with school policy.
  • Work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary Inclusion team including Pastoral support, SEND, Safeguarding and Pupil Engagement.
  • To support and assist pupils in managing their behaviour and in achieving their social and behavioural targets both in and outside the classroom.
  • To assist pupils back into the classroom / room move when they have regained management of their behaviour and selfregulated.
  • Be a key worker / mentor to identified students.
  • Manage and administer the detention system as required.
  • Keep parents/carers informed of their child's behaviour and build positive relationships with parents/carers.
  • Produce reports, documents and correspondence, including confidential material for Senior Leaders as required.
  • Support restorative meetings as required.
