Description

Highly Specialist (Band 7) Occupational Therapist

Mental Health after Covid Hospitalisation Service

Ashgrove House, Aberdeen

18.75hrs per week

Fixed Term Until March 2024

(Secondment possible with agreement from Line Manager)

This is an exciting opportunity for an innovative, enthusiastic Occupational Therapist (OT) to join the Mental Health after Covid Hospitalisation service.

The post holder will work within the Mental Health after Covid Hospitalisation (MACH) service, which has been designed to meet the requirements as set out by the Scottish Government Coronavirus (COVID-19): mental health needs of hospitalised patients - report.

The service provides a screening clinic, assessment, and treatment in both individual & group sessions, for patients who have been hospitalised with Covid-19.

This service is funded until March 2024.

The post holder will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team (Consultant Psychiatry, Clinical Psychology and Occupational Therapy) to ensure co-ordinated care for patients.

There will be a requirement for close working with other specialties given the multisystem presentation and overlapping needs of Post Covid-19 syndrome.

The post holder will lead development and delivery of the OT role within the service. This could include the use of audit, quality improvement methodology, teaching, service development and attendance at strategic planning meetings.

The work will be primarily community based and may include working within a patient's home, clinical settings and remote/virtual working.

There may be a requirement to provide services flexibly to meet the needs of service users (this could include providing services over weekends and extended hours).

Regular supervision and support will be provided as will the opportunity to develop through the use of a personal development plan and appraisal.
