An opportunity has arisen for a Pharmacy Assistant to join our Production Team at Chesterfield Royal Hospital for a fixed term.

We are looking for an excellent team player who is hardworking and enthusiastic to participate in and support the provision of our services.

Previous Pharmacy Production experience is desirable but not essential, as onsite training will be provided.

Applicants are invited to contact Production Management to arrange a departmental visit and gain an insight into the role.

KEY RESULT AREAS
a) To dispense outsourced aseptically manufactured products and ensure that they are handled according to the appropriate documentation in order to obtain the required quality.
b) To ensure that the starting materials and finished products are stored correctly.
c) To contribute to day-to-day workload by receiving/processing orders and communicating with the multi-disciplinary pharmacy team.
d) To ensure accurate stock levels of medicinal products are maintained by performing routine stock takes, completing orders and ensuring stock rotation throughout the process.
e) To assist in topping-up stock levels of consumables and cleanroom equipment where required.
f) To participate in the training of all staff new to the aseptic unit.

To undertake a range of GMP (Good Manufacturing Process) duties under the direction of Production Management and Quality Assurance as follows:
a) To generate and accuracy check batch documentation and labels for in-house manufactured products.
b) To assemble and perform assembly checks for in-house manufactured products against batch documentation.
c) To maintain personal operator validations.
d) To comply with GMP and cleanroom comportment requirements when undertaking activities within the clean rooms.
e) To participate in the monitoring and maintenance of the cleanrooms and pharmaceutical isolators.
f) To complete the transfer disinfection process on all items requiring entry to the aseptic clean rooms as per departmental procedures.
g) To assist in the routine and reactive cleaning of the aseptic unit.
h) To ensure that all documents are completed following data integrity regulations and are filed and retained in accordance with regulatory requirements.
i) To comply with departmental error and deviation management procedures at all times.


GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To undertake other duties as requested by the Head of Medicines Management
  • To participate in Weekend and Bank Holiday working in accordance with departmental rotas
  • To actively participate in the Staff Appraisal process
  • To maintain confidentiality at all times relating to the patients, staff and the Trust
  • To be familiar and compliant with relevant Operational, Personnel, Health and Safety policies and procedures including Fire, COSHH, No Smoking and Alcohol
  • Maintain a safe environment by adhering to local infection control policies
  • To contribute to Quality Governance within Pharmacy Services.
