    Field Service Engineer

    About Us

    Kingston Barnes Ltd is recruiting for a Field Service Engineer on behalf of one of our clients based in Bridgwater. Our client offers specialist solutions for high-value industrial components to customers globally.

    The Role

    This exciting opportunity will see you ensure all machines meet rigorous standards before dispatch, as well as play a key role in servicing, commissioning, and training customers on machines worldwide.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Quality Assurance: Inspect and approve machines before shipment.
    • Machine Commissioning: Set up and calibrate machines to meet original sales parameters.
    • Servicing & Repairs: Respond to breakdowns, diagnose faults (electrical, mechanical, pneumatic), and carry out retrofits.
    • Training: Provide operator and maintenance training, either on-site or in a classroom setting.
    • Customer Support: Act as a trusted technical expert, liaising with colleagues and customers to ensure excellent service.
    • International Travel: Due to a worldwide customer base, international travel is required.

    About You

    To be considered for this role, you will require:

    • A City & Guilds qualification in an electrical discipline.
    • Experience in machine maintenance or field service.
    • The ability to travel internationally independently.
    • Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach.

    Desirable Skills

    While not essential, experience with Mitsubishi or similar PLC systems, knowledge of mechanical and pneumatic systems, and the ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings would be advantageous.
