Lothian Community Transport Services (_LCTS_) is an independent organisation that provides, promotes and supports high-quality passenger transport services including:- Minibus hire to over 200 member organisations
- High quality training for transport operators
- Advice & Information.
You'll be one of the team of drivers at Lothian Community Transport Services (LCTS) who transport our passengers safely and comfortably, providing an outstanding service.
1 DRIVING
1.1 Drive any vehicle:
- Operated under the terms of the LCTS Vehicle Hire Service.
- Operated on the LCTS Community Bus network.
- As otherwise required by LCTS.
2 Ensure passengers are carried in a safe and comfortable manner and provide assistance to passengers where required, including:
- The safe operation of passenger lifts, steps and handrails.
- The use of Wheelchair Tie-Down & Occupant Restraint Systems.
- The use of electronic ticket machines.
- The handling of fares or other cash payments.
1.3 Undertake:
- Daily walkround vehicle and vehicle equipment checks and record the outcome on the designated form.
- Seat removal and replacement.
- Vehicle fuelling, engine liquid topups and tyre checks.
- Vehicle cleaning to the LCTS standard.
1.4 Ensure that vehicle defects are recorded and reported in accordance with the LCTS policy on _Vehicle Defect Reporting & Rectification_.
1.6 Promote the safe and fuel-efficient use of vehicles so as to benefit passengers, drivers and other road users.
2 GENERAL

1 Through liaison with the Chief Executive Officer and/or a Transport Co-ordinator:
- Assist other staff in the performance of their duties.
- Attend meetings, courses and training events.
- Deal with complaints in accordance with the _LCTS Complaints Procedure_.
- Work to improve LCTS's profile and reputation.
3.3 Carry out any other duties deemed appropriate by the Management Team and/or the LCTS Trustee Board.
3.4 Undertake any relevant training.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
- This is a Safeguarding position, you will be working with vulnerable adults and children and a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) check be required.
- You will need to be safety focused as caring for the service users is paramount. You will need to be friendly and helpful as you will working with others in the team to deliver this service and it is important that everyone you deal with feels comfortable and reassured.
- You will need to have a friendly and flexible approach to the role
- A flexible approach is required to when the hours are worked: split shifts may be utilised. Although the majority of the hours will normally be within the period 9.00am 5.00pm (Monday
- Friday), some early morning, evening and weekend work will be necessary. The actual days worked may vary from week to week.

£12,334.00 per year
