As a great communicator, you will provide core HR support to Co-operatives UK, enabling the organisation and its employees to thrive through the effective provision of HR processes and practices.


Utilising your previous experience, you will play a vital part in supporting the HR Manager and Leadership Team in all manners of HR administrative duties.

From ensuring HR processes run smoothly and efficiently, to co-ordinating and supporting on some very exciting projects and activities. No two days will look the same in this diverse and multi-faceted role.


This role is certainly suited to a pragmatic and flexible individual who enjoys working as part of a team and thrives with a varied workload.

Whilst previous HR administrative experience is not essential, you must have a keen interest in HR alongside a positive 'can do' attitude.


Core responsibilities

  • To provide comprehensive HR administration and support to ensure that Cooperatives UK's HR processes run smoothly and efficiently.
  • With guidance from the HR Manager and Senior Employment Lawyer as required, to provide high quality professional advice and support to managers and staff for HR related matters.
  • To have daytoday responsibility for the smooth and effective coordination of DEI projects and activities, supporting the Leadership Team to build an inclusive and equitable working culture
  • To coordinate the HR delivery of the organisation's strategic aim regarding young people through initiatives such as the national youth forum and working with apprenticeship training providers.
  • To support the Leadership Team to enable a healthy organisation through the implementation of wellbeing, staff engagement, and other initiatives as required, including supporting the effective delivery of staff surveys.
  • Under the guidance of the HR Manager, to contribute to the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures. Regularly review HR policies to ensure they are up to date and fit for purpose.
  • To administrate and maintain comprehensive and accurate HR documentation, records, and files.
  • To work with the payroll team to ensure that information is delivered accurately and to deadlines.
  • As a member of the business support team, to provide administrative and other support to the Leadership Team as required.
  • To support the administration and development of content for meetings and training sessions, including line manager meetings and all staff sessions as required.
  • To maintain an up to date understanding of employment law and HR best practice.
  • To undertake other appropriate duties and responsibilities as required from time to time.

  • Administration experience

Desirable skills:


  • HR administration experience
  • Achieved or working towards a CIPD qualification
