About the role
Your role will be to help the NAT team delivering and supporting automations.

You will be responsible for pro-actively developing (using a variety of languages and tools), monitoring and maintaining automations.

You will also be responsible for supporting the apps and toolsets that are under the team's remit.

For this you will be required to handle 1st, 2nd and even 3rd line administration and support, resolving internal customer and network support system issues working with vendors, other Telefonica teams and managed services, as well as assisting in the delivery of fixes and upgrades to these systems to support the continuing network evolution.


Key Responsibilities

  • Be able to carry an end to end automation project: assessment, discovery, design and development.
  • Be able to code in different languages and configure and deploy to environments.
  • Engage with different teams across the company to understand their needs and assess potential automations.
  • Be able to support the automations and tools under the team's remit.
  • Be able to work together as a team with other developers, assisting and supporting each other.
  • Owning and managing tools and systems to ensure smooth workflows and delivery of projects, including version control systems and continuous development and continuous integration pipelines, using a variety of tools.
  • Managing resources such as servers and connectivity to enable projects to be delivered in ambitious timescales and quick turn around on incoming demand. Designing server architecture to enable secure and efficient deployment and reduce risk of downtime Liaise with all areas of the business to ensure the team has the support needed to drive automations

  • Working with the platform and database teams to ensure processes and toolsets availability meet the required SLA's.
  • Flexibility to work with different teams and parties to bring new automations and support/enhance the current ones.
  • Engage with projects and solution suppliers to ensure automation tools, systems and capability are fit for purpose and meets the operational requirements.
  • To be the technical point of contact for automation issues within Networks/Operations and act as an interface between projects, 2nd line support, design and monitor & fix teams.
  • Capable of analysing the operational process and be able to identify and isolate problematic areas, prioritise and focus to tackle business critical issues in the above areas.
  • Capable of understanding various service and architectural designs in order to carry out business impact assessment and be able to identify automation requirements and system development need.
  • Must be supportive of team aims and objectives and be able to work under periods of high pressure
  • Awareness of different business policies (including security) and procedures, project lifecycle and organisation structure.
  • Ability to work alone, be part of a team, or matrixmanage a virtual team across different business areas and have the flexibility to work extended and unsociable hours
