About the Role:


Base Location:

Salary:
£44,100 - £66,100 + car / car allowance + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

Reporting to the Occupational Health and Safety Manager, the Occupational Health Specialist will support the SSEN Distribution business in their efforts to promote, maintain and improve the health and wellbeing of our people.

Working closely with the Head of SHE Distribution, the Occupational Health and Safety Manager and the SSE Head of Occupational Health and Wellbeing, the Occupational Health Specialist will:

  • Help assist, develop and implement an annual programme of activities and campaigns that support colleagues and the employee experience.
  • Be involved in developing appropriate health campaigns aimed at improving workers general health in response to emerging trends and professional advice with a view to provide measurable benefits and/or outcomes.
  • Objectively review the SHE performance report with regards to Wellbeing and work with the assurance team to implement systems to monitor the effectiveness of Health and Wellbeing across SSEN Distribution.
  • Visit other industries / conferences to gain benchmark information in order to assist in developing a best practice Occupational Health strategy for SSEN Distribution.
  • Build and maintain firm relationships with key stakeholders. Liaising with Group SHE team to assist in the interactions with Regulatory and Enforcement agencies.

What do I need?:

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

  • Registered General Nurse with previous experience in Occupational Health, as an Occupational Health professional.
  • Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to demonstrate initiative.
  • Ability to support health promotion campaigns by researching and collating information from the evidencebased internet sites, articles etc.
  • Good I.T skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

The role also involves travelling across Scotland and South East/Central England, so a full UK driving license is a must.
