Handyman / woman Care home

Location:
CF81 8QP


Responsibilities:

General Maintenance in Residential elderly care home.


You must have experience of:


  • General Care home or similar maintenance (Desirable)
  • Minor electrical / Plumbing / Joinery /Carpentry skills
  • Confident Team Player
  • Clean Driving Licence
  • Willingness to learn new health and safety regulations
  • Ability to work on own initiate
  • Understand safeguarding for residents /visitors and staff

Desirable:


  • Understand central heating Systems, laundry equipment / hot & cold water
  • Knowledge of current health &Safety regulations

Duties:


  • Good communication skills (Essential)
  • Report any defect or breakages and repairs to the Homecare Manager
  • Keep outhouse / shed clean and tidy
  • Clear pathway / Drives from leaves and snow
  • Clean signs and outside lighting
  • Fix broken handles /switches/ other furniture fitting to minimise risk or danger
  • Test Fire Alarms / light bulbs electricals etc.
  • Ensure door exits are clear and safe.
  • General maintenance

Salary:
£25,500.00-£26,500.00 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 per week

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Bargoed, CF81: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:


  • General maintenance
in a care home or similar: 1 year (required)

  • Handyman: 2 years (required)

Licence/Certification:

  • Driving Licence (required)
