We are recruiting for a Band 5 Speech and Language Therapist who wishes to join#TeamIOWNHSfor a 1 year fixed term contract.

You should share our passion and drive to ensure that our patients and staff receive quality and compassionate care and work with us to ensure the Trust continues its journey towards great people, great place.

Are you a Speech & Language Therapist looking for an opportunity to further develop your skills as part of a dynamic SLT team, on the beautiful Isle of Wight, situated a few miles off the English South Coast?

Are you committed to the Speech & Language Therapy profession and keen to provide a high-quality effective service to children and families?

If your answer to these questions is yes, you could be one of the people we are looking for to join us on the Isle of Wight.

The Speech and Language Therapy Service provides an excellent clinical supervision programme, active professional development, service development working parties and actively supports student placements from a number of universities.

The Isle of Wight NHS is committed to personal development via supervision, a friendly network of colleagues, post-graduate and in-service training as well as support for CPD.

Interviews will be held via Microsoft teams or face to face in a suitable space.

This role requires a flexible and innovative Speech & Language Therapist to work within a dedicated Children's SLT team and is committed to supporting children and families with communication and feeding difficulties.

As a newly qualified Speech and Language Therapist you would be required to provide intervention and support to children with a range of communication difficulties.

You would assess, diagnose, plan, deliver and implement appropriate support to meet the identified clinical needs of the child within all their contexts.

You would work collaboratively with and provide training, mentoring, and coaching to parents, carers, education colleagues as well as other professionals, ensuring a well-co-ordinated and effective speech and language provision for the children and their families.

It is an opportunity to work alongside highly specialist therapists across other disciplines and you would have the opportunity to participate in service development to support implementation and delivery of an effective needs led service with the Principal Paediatric SLT as well as the rest of the Speech and Language Therapy team.

You would be based within a friendly and supportive Children's Therapies Team at St Mary's Hospital, in an NHS Trust with a commitment to personal development and in-service training.

This post requires travelling to pre-schools/schools, children's centres and other community settings, so a car driver is essential.

We offer flexible working opportunities, speak to us about how we might be able to accommodate a flexible working arrangement for you and if it works for the service, we will do our best to make it work for you.
