Mechanical Fitter Supervisor

Job Summary:

To install pipes, mechanical components, fittings and equipment to the requirements of quality, safety and at the completion rate as directed by the foreman.

The Role

Install and test pipe
Clip pipes and tighten
Interpret Drgs (P&IDS) & Diagrams
Interpret Oral & Written Instructions. Material Specs & British Standards
Interpret Suppliers Instructions & Compliance Requirements
Install & Reassemble Main Engines and Jet Bowls
Install & Realign Propeller & Shafting
Operate Measuring Devices (Micrometers), (Depth Gauges), (Vernier Dial), (Callipers)
Set to work Machines & Systems e.g. eng room and deck equipment
Repair & Overhaul Machinery & Systems
Flush & Pressure Test Systems
Align Pumps, Valves & Shaft
Install Taper Shafts & Keyways

About you

Time served apprenticeship
Be competent in use of hand tools to cut, bend, burn, level, clean, prepare and form various pipework including carbon steel, stainless steel, cunifer and cast iron
Be able to measure up, read drawings and plan pipe routes from pipe sizes 15mm to 700 mm diameter
Comfortable working at heights and confined spaces
