My client, a global and rapidly expanding conference and events business, seeks a Head of Venue Sourcing.

This roleis responsible for successfully setting and driving the strategy for venue contracting across the entire portfolio of events globally.

Leading a small team to manage multiple and simultaneous venue searches towards set deadlines and budgets, the role entails working with various internal and external stakeholders, communicating effectively, nurturing relationships and guiding the venueteam towards the business goals.

You will also support the Director of Customer Delivery on multi-year planning strategies, and work closely with the Divisional Heads of Events on process improvements, project work and strategic planning.

Other main duties include;

Responsible for venue strategy to ensure that all venues are found in budget and on time for all event types.

Develop and maintain relationships with key international hotel groups across Europe, US, and Asia.

Support your team to develop and maintain relationships with independent hotels across Europe, US and Asia.

Create and nurture preferred supplier relationships where needed and delegate once established.

Delegate venue searches appropriately and plan accordingly.

You will be wholly responsible for the output of all Venue Managers.

Run weekly venue function team meetings with your team.

Develop Venue Manager specific training, competencies, and career paths to effectively prepare for business growth.

Request internal customer feedback and report on venue and customer scores for future use.

On-board new team members, acting as a mentor and providing thorough training.

Continually develop excellent venue destination and supplier knowledge sustaining agreements and expectations, organising meetings and updating the internal venue database where required.

At least 5 years significant experience of working in a leadership role within event operations with venue sourcing or dedicated venue sourcing, demonstrating a strong understanding of what is required to lead a team to success.

Previous experience and good working knowledge or Cvent Supplier Network.

Proven track record of working on a wide variety of projects, delivering on time and within budget.

Experience in leading teams and developing individuals to set them up for success.

Salary circa 60K plus excellent bonus and benefits.
