About The Role
This is a 12-month fixed term contract.

The role is part of the Council's Environment, Culture and Customer Services team, delivering corporate objectives through the work of the department.

Residents are at the heart of our work at Hounslow.

Through our ambitious Transport projects and programmes of development, change and transformation we are connecting and delivering support, opportunities and improvements across the borough that will make a difference for our residents.

The postholder will provide effective and efficient admin support services for the Traffic, and Parking Team.

They will respond to a range of enquiries within the Traffic, and Parking inboxes and ensure general management of office by overseeing operational efficiency, effective communications, and other strategic and tactical planning.


About The Team You'll Be Working In


You will be a member of the Traffic, and Parking team who are the main service lines for the London Borough of Hounslow.


These departments are responsible for not only ensuring that the borough's residents, workers, and visitor travel about the area safely, but also that they are mindful of how they can travel sustainably and actively and that the areas they travel withing are clean and welcoming.

Our traffic team are made up of engineers and project officers.

The work carried out by our Traffic team is to ensure the safe operation of the transport network across the Borough.

Traffic and Parking is part of the Regeneration, Housing and Environmental Services, reporting to the Assistant Director.


You will be part of a team of 6 to support our Transport projects across the council in line with our Transport strategies.

The council to support, influence and enable the delivery of the organisational priorities and objectives.


About You

  • You have experience of writing correspondence at all levels and able to provide excellent interpersonal skills.

Great communication skills:

you engage effectively with a broad range of people, ensuring that parking and traffic initiatives are clearly presented and understood.


  • You manage your time efficiently, effectively, and accurately, meaning that a high-quality service is provided in line with the organisations and the team's commitments.
  • Good working knowledge of IT packages.
  • The ability to build solid, collaborative relationships with colleagues and Stakeholders internally and externally.
  • To work with other services across the division such to provide smooth functioning of administration and support of the service, and to provide cover when required.
