Key Skills/Experiences:


  • Experience of Product Testing (e.g. performance, functional, regression, durability, usability).
  • Experience with lifecycle testing on hardware and embedded firmware.
  • Experience with creation of validation and / or verification plans.
  • Experience working with electronics at component and/or system level.

Responsibilities:


  • Evaluating and testing samples, prototypes and finished products for the purposes of product development, customer and sales support, and competitor analysis in the field of fire detection test equipment, and reporting to stakeholders.
  • Creation and execution of clear, concise and effective test specifications, plans, methods and procedures to validate and/or verify the functionality and performance of existing products and products in development.
  • Recording and reporting of test results accurately and clearly for analysis and review.
  • Analysis of results and selection of best reporting method for the intended audience.
  • Keeping ordered, accurate and complete records of all work carried out according to the requirements of the company's Quality System.
  • Maintaining a high standard of organisation and cleanliness inline with company 5S policies
  • Collaboration with Product Management and other internal stakeholders to understand and agree acceptance criteria and therefore 'what matters' to the customer.
  • Understanding the customer's needs and working environment so as to better plan testing and interpret test results.
  • Interfacing with customers as and when required.
  • Development and commissioning of V&V test equipment in line with requirements stemming from test methods and procedures.
  • Execution of V&V strategy plan as directed by V&V Engineer or equivalent management positions.
  • Continuously seeking to recommend improvements and additions to test methods, procedures and practices using latest industry best practice, keeping efficiency and quality in mind.
  • Tracking and reporting of test progress to all stakeholders as required.
