About the role:
The Middle Office team is an integral part of the firm and ensures timely, accurate and thorough execution of trade support and portfolio valuation functions.
Reporting directly to the Co-Head of Product Control, you will work closely with the Portfolio Management team and Operations to understand and explain P&L, identify, and resolve pricing and booking issues and assist in driving forward the implementation of new technologies to streamline the firm's operating model.
Responsibilities:
- Controlling of the Daily and Monthly P&L process (reviewing and explaining P&L to portfolio managers and senior management as required).
- Be part of the daily and monthly portfolio pricing process (identifying and resolving issues).
- Review of accruals, receivables, and other trade related balance sheet items.
- Working with Operations to resolve any issues relating to the booking of trades or corporate actions.
- Working with Risk, Quantitative Analytics Group, and other groups to identify and resolve any other issues that impact the P&L and Balance Sheet of the firm.
- Assist the team in the implementation of new systems across all products and geographies.
- Identify opportunities to streamline existing processes and implement new ones with the goal of having an efficient and robust trade lifecycle.
- Willing to challenge the status quo.
Requirements:
- 1+ years of relevant product control/middle office experience preferably with a hedge fund, asset management firm or investment bank
- Knowledge of derivative and fixed income products
- A keen eye for detail, a curious mindset and a willingness to challenge the status quo
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Good Microsoft Excel skills. Python, Tableau and VBA skills are a plus
