Overview:
Due to the vulnerable nature of the women you will be working with, we are seeking a female Forest School Leader who is compassionate, motivated and experienced to join our team.
This will include planning, preparing, leading and evaluating forest school sessions, including activities such as woodcraft, fire lighting, campfire cooking and nature activities.
Being part of the team is crucial in helping to support attendees to build resilience, self-esteem and confidence outdoors in any weather.
We are inclusive and supportive encouraging the group to drive the direction and content of activities.Duties:
- To plan, prepare, deliver and evaluate forest school sessions along Forest Schools Association Guidelines.
- To help create and maintain an engaging, fun and supportive environment, demonstrating flexibility in in response to varying/changing needs of the women we are supporting.
- To be prepared to travel and work in different locations including Fishbourne Secret Garden Brandy Hole Copse, Lavant House and Kingley Vale and weather dictate.
- To be aware of and comply with all Chichester Forest Schools Policies and Procedures, risk assessments and feedback any concerns.
- To maintain professional development and participate in training and other learning activities/meetings to meet FSA guidance.
- To observe confidentiality at all times.
- To provide your own forest school equipment and where using company kit, look after equipment and report and withdraw from use any faulty equipment
- To adhere to the principle of leaving no trace
- Contribute to site management through keeping tidy, reviewing woodland managements plans and monitoring impact forest schools has on the sites and any equipment stored there.
- To undertake all duties reasonably requested by the Directors
- Hours 6 hours per week on a Friday during term time with elements of flexibility around this.
- Level 3 Forest School Leader qualification
- Experience of working with vulnerable adults
- Experience of working outdoors
- Safeguarding training
- Full UK driving licence and own transport
- Enhanced DBS clearance

£17.50-£20.00 per hour
