My client are looking for a Supplier Quality Engineer to join themJob Overview
The Supplier Quality Engineer will support the Purchasing function to ensure that all suppliers products meet the requirements and our customer expectations.
The postholder will identify and ensure the solution of quality issues within supply chain, develop, and maintain quality documentation, provide guidance and assistance to suppliers, act as a point of communication between the compnay and suppliers.
Responsibilities:
- Develop suppliers and implement best practices.
- Ensuring that quality costs related to purchased items are reduced.
- Ensuring Quality requirements are defined to, communicated to, and understood by suppliers.
- Notifying suppliers of design changes.
- Producing any quality documentation required.
- Ensuring Quality costs in supply chain are minimised.
- New Vendor approval and maintenance of vendor records.
- Carry out regular supplier audits, assessments, and surveillance visits.
- Management of supplier including identification, implementation, and verification of corrective actions
- Producing, maintaining, and reporting supplier KPIs.
- Propose appropriate solutions in accordance with applicable standards and corporate policies
- Ensure the implementation of new standards.
- Conduct goods inwards inspection.
- Any other duties not listed commensurate with the requirements of the business.
Targets - To ensure that a high-quality standard is maintained in the supply chain.
- KPIs are met and right firsttime delivery achieved.
Skills Essential:
- An excellent communicator, both written and verbal, with the ability to deal effectively with a wide range of individuals.
- Proactive and flexible approach to workload.
- A highly organised, selfstarting logical thinker with positive work ethic and a desire to get the job done.
- Able to remain enthusiastic, positive, and helpful in a fastpaced and dynamic work environment.
- Must excel at working in a team environment
- Good knowledge of the technical aspects of manufacturing and engineering.
- A good working knowledge of quality standards (ISO9001:2015)
- The ability to read and interpret Engineering drawings.
- Able to use computerised industrial and management tools
- Computer literate; able to use MS Office Suite.
- Proven experience in Supplier Quality role.
- Desirable:
- Degree in engineering or equivalent specialised experience
- Quality/statistical related certifications (ASQ, Six Sigma, Lean).
- Previous working knowledge of EFACS
- A good knowledge of the PPAP process
