What will you be doing?


As Southampton Football Club's Marketing Executive, you will play a key role in ensuring that relevant advertising, information, and news for Men's Team matches is shared with the current SFC fanbase as well as potential new fans.

The role will work closely with both the Ticket Office and Sales departments, as well as other teams, to ensure that commercial targets are hit, and branding remains relevant and creative across Men's Ticketing & Memberships.

The role will involve working alongside the Marketing Manager and with other departments to create and deliver marketing campaigns.

There will be a primary focus on the Men's First Team ticketing & membership campaigns but isn't strictly limited to this.


You will be passionate about what you do in order to drive revenue, engage with our fans and build awareness by delivering campaigns using the most effective digital channels and continuously testing and learning the best approaches to succeed.


Work will include (but is not limited to) the briefing, design management, production and activation of online and offline marketing materials across a range of different mediums.

These assets must be delivered within strict time and budgetary constraints, to gain maximum effectiveness.

If you have hands on digital platform experience and love to be in the know about the key digital channels and know how to navigate your way around building campaigns across them, you could be the person we're looking for.


Person specification

  • One to two years' experience working in a junior marketing role.
  • Experience of marketing within the sports industry is desirable.
  • University educated with a degree in Marketing/Sports Marketing or Communications being advantageous, or demonstrable work experience as an equivalent.
  • Outstanding understanding of the marketing mix; social media, CRM, digital advertising and database experience/understanding is essential.
  • The ability to adapt and respond quickly to changes in marketing campaigns & smaller projects, at short notice.
  • Great organisational and planning skills (must be able to prioritise workload, especially at busy times).
  • Strong attention to detail for branding and editing purposes across all assets.
  • IT literate (competent in Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook, Photoshop and Indesign).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work as a member of a dynamic team, but can also work effectively as an individual.
