Product Strategy - Alternatives
Hays are excited to be partnering with a leading Investment Manager to recruit for a Product Strategist at VP level to join a leading Alternatives specific business on a contract basis

This is a very unique contracting opportunity, but it will give you the opportunity to gain experience across many alternative products.

Working very closely with Portfolio Managers, you will have direct exposure to the client, so a high level of customer interaction will be required.

You will be the point of contact for investors and distribution teams.

Other stakeholders will include Research and Product Strategy, Portfolio Management, Alternative Specialists, Global Institutional and Retail Client Relationship Management, Wealth, Global Consultant Relations, Investor Relations, Finance, Operations.

Functional responsibilities

  • Working with various distribution and portfolio management teams to prepare and execute a comprehensive fundraising and marketing campaign for the purpose of achieving the fund's capital raising objective.
  • Investment strategy: partnering with the Global Research team to provide prospective clients with fresh and compelling thought leadership on the market environment, the investment opportunities, and the competitive environment.
  • Development and coordination of prospective client roadshows and engagement opportunities, including identification of key regions and prospective clients, coordination of travel schedules, premeeting planning sessions, prospective client materials andinternal stakeholder engagement.
  • Opportunity management: tracking and management of prospective client commitments, administration of pipeline data and pipeline reporting, coordination and chairing of fortnightly pipeline review meetings, analysis of commitment timings and probabilities,development of follow up strategies and coordination of action plans agreed with distribution teams.
  • Platform and product marketing materials: development and ongoing maintenance of marketing and pitch materials
  • Client due diligence responses: lead the development of responses to consultant requests for proposal and client due diligence questionnaires
Skills/Experience

  • 35 years of experience in Alternatives/ Strategy, Investment, Portfolio Management, Distribution or Consulting Role.
  • An understanding of real estate strategy would be hugely beneficial
