Hunter Savage is delighted to be partnering with a leading company in Derry/Londonderry to recruit a
Credit Controller on a permanent basis. Reporting to the Credit Manager you will be working to ensure prompt payment of customer debt, whilst maintaining excellent customer relationships.

The Role:


  • Oversee debt and credit records for all account sectors, while establishing and pursuing monthly cash collection objectives.
  • Generate reports on debtor days for commercial and domestic clients, and implement procedures to minimise debtor days, conduct bad debt reviews, and manage writedowns.
  • Handle escalated queries and disputes to reach satisfactory resolutions, collaborating with the Commercial, billing, and Customer Service teams to resolve outstanding issues.
  • Supervise the referral process for overdue accounts to legal action and manage the associated legal procedures.
  • Participate in credit risk reviews, projects, and initiatives, including regulatory changes, audits, inspections, and issue remediation as required.
  • Manage cash allocation to accounts, encompassing unpaid direct debits, refunds, and direct debit runs.
  • Foster strategic partnerships within the management team, closely collaborating with other internal departments to foster effective communication, continuous improvement, and teamwork.
  • Represent the company in process improvement projects across the organisation, actively working with IT to enhance business processes and systems.
  • Act as a credit control and collection ambassador during the ERP migration to ensure the future resilience of the business.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as needed.

The Person:


  • A minimum of 5 years experience within a credit function, and 3+ years experience in team management.
  • Proficient in Excel and experience using ERP systems.
  • Strong background in customer liaison.
  • Strong communication & management skills.
